KELLEY, Patricia Kearney
Born in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Elmira, NY April 21, 1931 the daughter of the late James J. and Eloise Sheehe Kearney. She was also predeceased by her only daughter, Erin Colleen Kelley Vergona in 1989; sister, Joan Kearney Vater of Honeoye Falls; father-in-law, Edward Kelley and mother-in-law, Dolores Slattery Kelley Breitenstein. She is survived by her husband Dr. Patrick Kelley of Horseheads, NY; five sons, Daniel (Susan) of Horseheads, NY, James (Michele) of Erin, NY, Michael (Anna) of Horseheads, NY, John of Horseheads, NY and Robert (Sonya) of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Christopher (Amber) of Brooklyn, NY, Brian of Brooklyn, NY, Kevin of Raleigh, NC and his mother Rene Miller, Jessica of Buffalo, NY and her mother Anne P. Kelley of Elmira, NY, Caitlin of Spring, TX, Jackie of Brooklyn, NY, Ryan of Brooklyn, NY and Brandon of Horseheads, NY; niece, Patricia Rapach; nephew, Joseph Vater; her lifelong friend Barbara Ferguson Allen and several cousins. Home and family came first with Patricia. However, over the course of her life, she was a secretary at Westinghouse, then secretary in the office of the Vice President at Cornell University, owned and operated a Baskin Robbins franchise in the Pyramid Mall in Ithaca for several years and owned and operated with two of her sons, Kelley’s Surf the Turf restaurant in Elmira Heights. She was known in Horseheads when she was a young woman, for her singing voice performing in school, at service clubs, in weddings and other functions. Music was a constant in her home. She was a member of the Horseheads Woman’s Club, St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary and an avid bridge player, and especially loved her lunches with her five close childhood friends, and sharing laughter and an occasional bottle of wine with so many of her new friends. At her request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Elmira Heights, NY. Burial at the convenience of the family. The family respectfully request that memorials be made in her name to CCLD-Horseheads Free Library, 405 S. Main St., Horseheads, NY 14845 in her memory.
