FUNDURULIC, Jean M. “Jeannie”
Longtime resident of Elmira Southside passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center at the age of 64 after a short but courageous fight with cancer. Jean was born October 30, 1952 in Elmira, NY a daughter of the late Joseph and Laura French Fundurulic. She was employed by Sears for 30 years. Despite some physical limitations as a result of polio, Jean was very active in numerous clubs and organizations. She was President of the local chapter of the AARP, volunteered with the American Red Cross, was a member of the Ladies AOH, White Eagles Club and RSVP in Chemung County. She was a devout Catholic and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, a jokester and a devoted Yankee fan. Jean never missed an Elmira Pioneer baseball game and enjoyed Wisner Market every Thursday with Janet and friends. She is survived by her siblings, Michael (Val) Fundurulic, Rosemary (Ken) Randolph, and Janet Fundurulic; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends including her dearest childhood friend Mary McFarland. The family will receive relatives and friends at Sullivan’s Funeral Home, 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13, Horseheads, NY on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 4-7PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Elmira, NY on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 9:30 AM. She will be laid to rest in Ss. Peter and Paul’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Officers and members of the Ladies Division of AOH will meet at the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:45 PM to conduct a service for our sister, Jean. Signed, Beth Vetter, President.
