KEISTER, Betty M.
of Horseheads, NY passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at the age of 88. Betty was born on October 30, 1927, a daughter of the late Elmer and Leah VanGorder McAtee. Betty retired after 30 years of service as an operator with NYNEX and volunteered for many years at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She is predeceased by her former husband, Cecil Keister. Betty is survived by her children, Cecil “Chip” (Kathryn) Keister of Horseheads, NY, Terry (Gretchen) Keister of West Oneonta, NY, Sandra Keister Hayes of Horseheads, NY and Scott (Susan) Keister of Horseheads, NY; grandchildren, Brendan, Corey, Kelsey, Taylor, Elise and Evan; brother, Richard (Alberta) McAtee and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Betty will be missed by the many friends she shared her love of euchre card tournaments with and casino bus trips. The family will welcome relatives and friends to Sullivan’s Funeral Home 365 E. Franklin St. at Rt. 13 Horseheads, NY on Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 3-6 PM with a Funeral Service to follow at 6 PM with Rev. Richard Farrell. The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful care provided by the ICU doctors and nursing staff of Robert Packer Hospital. In memory of Betty, a member of the Horseheads WOTM Chapter 1832, the family respectfully request that memorials be made to Moose Charities 155, S. International Dr., Mooseheart, IL 60539 in her memory.
